See how dynamic!!

G is for...

...Grace. This young lady came to us through our daughter in Virginia. She, Grace not our daughter, is half lab and half blue-tick coon hound. She is a sweetie pie! She was born on New Year's Day 2007 and flew to California to join my huband and I last May.

F is for...

... fish. Otherwise known as "Nana can't say no!"
So I had my middle two grandsons with me and we had to stop at Petsmart to buy some dog food. I really tried every argument I could think of but the protests just seemed to get weaker and weaker in the face of those two little faces looking at me so forlornly. Please Nana.... I'm sunk!
So the little beta is named Sarah and the two goldfish are Little & Lucky. Don't ask me why.
And they both reside at Nana's house for the boys to visit with when they come to see me. I must say I did get some kisses out of the deal so I'm ok with the loss of counterspace and stinky fish water. And hey at least they didn't want any of the snakes, mices, rats or birds!!

E is for...

...Easter Eggs - that weren't.
Unbelievable the 2 weeks before Easter were so hectic. It was like everything that needed to be done over the 6 months ended up being crammed into these 2 weeks. And mu husband was away on business so no help. But still he was coming home Friday so we still planned to make the homemade sausage and Easter Bread and the hardboiled and dyed eggs. Then flight delays, unexpected company, an unmissable B-day party for a friend, and the butcher didn't have the meat for the sausage. We made reservations!! Easter brunch was lovely, delicious and relaxing. So there are my unboiled, undyed Easter Eggs all ready for an quiche!

D is for...

... damage. I thought of so many "d's" but none were especially meaningful and I wanted my choices for this ABC-along to be meaningful so I procrastinated. And procrastinated, and procrastinated somemore. Then the other day I got lazy and decided to park in my office building instead of the lot I usually park in. It's an old building and the parking garage has many odd angles and concrete poles to manuver around. And as you can see I didn't navigate so well. I got jammed up against the corner of a wall. My beautiful truck that is 8 years old, perfectly maintained, without a single scratch... a thing of the past. What a way to get a meaningful "D".

C is for Candy...

...or for catch-up which seems like I am endlessly trying to do lately.
So back to the candy - you can always tell what season it is at our house by the color of the candy in the bowls. Just a week or so ago this was pink, white and red for Valentine's Day and now Easter is coming up fast. I had a whole other "C" idea but I was running late with the posting and the bowls magically changed color. As with most of the edibles at my house I have very little to do with it so it was a surprise. The lovely pastels make me feel very Spring-y.
I feel so relieved that this is finally being posted; maybe it's a sign that I am almost caught up!

Ready, set , go....

At least I think I'm ready. Leaving at the buttcrack of dawn Thursday morning for Wichita so tonight I am packing my stuff. Got the painting supplies - check. Got the long undies - check (it's cold there compared to here!!). Got clothes, toiletries - check. I have gone over the to-do list a hundred million times; I don't think I am leaving anything undone. I am so ready to relax and enjoy this wonderful painting seminar!!! Now that it is here I almost can't wait until it's over and I can post the finished product. And I am sure the 4 days are going to absolutely fly by. I have been looking forward to this for quite some time and realized the other day that I have not planned a single thing for "after". So I come home to a clean slate and can start making plans again.

Ciao for now.....

B is for Bread

Upload/Downlod

The worst thing about learning something new is that it seems that everyone else already knows everything you don't. All I want are some little old buttoms to put on this site. You know the ones - the little boxes that say "Ravelry" and "ABC-Along" etc. All the helps say "upload to..." then "download to..." If only I could figure out how to upload... I suppose it doesn't help that I am trying to figure this out at the very end of my very busy days but I sure feel pretty dense right about now. Heavy sigh!

New Year; New Challenges

My usual MO is to not make New Year's resolutions. But THIS year I have made some! The first of which was to make a blog and then actually post on it. After lurking about various knitting/spinning blogs and websites for well over a year I decided that it was finally time to take a leap and learn something new. First step - make a blog. Step two - learn how to work it!! Technology is pretty much a whole new world for me so this should be interesting (read intimiadating). So I've gotten this far - next on to learning how to post photos.......
